Who has been defining you?
Are you trying to live up to someone else’s vision of you?
Who does God say you are? Have you taken the time to ask Him? Does your perception of yourself, change according to who is around? God has a great plan for you, do you know it?
Humility comes when you welcome who you are and (stop the pretense)
People will label you……. Dumb, ambitious, lazy, partier, selfish, too strong, too weak, prideful……
My Life—-I was born in poverty to a single mother of four girls. Already according to statistics I had strikes against me. I grew up with the adults drinking, gambling, smoking and fighting. To add, I also saw my oldest sister being raped by my stepfather. So I became this hard rebellious young girl. My family moved from Baltimore back here to Raleigh and at a young age I became involved with a very religious organization because my aunt was there. They had so many rules, and do’s and don’ts especially directed to the women. So, in order to fit in, I decided to become like all the other women, so that I could be accepted. One day, after I was married with children, God told me to leave my institution. After leaving I began to read over 100 books and found out that there was another world out there. Also; I began to form a relationship with a God, who I learned, could speak to me. A God who loved me and wanted me to be who He had created me to be. Slowly but surely, He has been removing from my mind, all the lies told to me.
Romans 12:2 (NIV) Translation
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
I am becoming free to be who I am in God. The scripture says “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things are passing away, all things are becoming new”.
I found out I could sing R&B, I can sing gospel, I can teach women, I am an entrepreneur. I am a writer; I am currently working on my degree in Human Technologies. We must be ready to fly like a butterfly, I learned that when the caterpillar goes inside the cocoon his head falls off, we in turn must put on the mind of God and loose our head or identity.
Be Yourself!
